I frequented the local ½ mile dirt track in PA where I was raised. After a brief stint in TX (18½ years), I arrived on the coast in late 2003. In 2006 I fulfilled a childhood dream by climbing behind the wheel of a race car!
Favorite quote from my racing career after asking too many questions of my crew chief: “Shut up and drive!”

I started working on dirt track race cars in 1963 as an assistant to my father, Bud Stanfield. I have owned and crewed on NASCAR modified, Stock and Sprint cars. During the last two years I have crewed on the “00” Mini Stock. I live in Arroyo Grande with my wife JoAnn and make my living as a Purchasing Agent and Construction Manager.

I’ve been in involved in various forms of racing off and on for over 20 years. I was first involved at the Santa Maria Speedway in the 90s as Crew Chief for Scott Ryan and the #39 Toyota. That experience led me to helping Ken and Allen and I’m here to stay. I work for ICI Paints and live in Orcutt with my wife Sheryl and 2 boys, John & Derek (Ken’s biggest fans).
